Andreas Falk, MSc – Master of Science, is the Managing Director of BioNanoNet ForschungsGmbH (BNN). He graduated in Analytical Technologies in Medicine and Management from the University of Graz. He has been involved in more than 80 completed and ongoing national and European projects covering the topics of (nano)medicine, safety of nanomaterials, innovation and sustainability. He plays key roles in several national and international initiatives, such as: Network for the Safety and Sustainability of Chemicals and Materials (NSC), European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (ETP-SusChem), INISS-Nano (international network initiative for the safety and sustainability of nanotechnologies), National Expert at OECD-WPMN, Plenum Member of ISO TC229 and CEN TC352, and Coordinator of the EU InnoMatSyn project. Since 2009 he has participated in international scientific conferences and co-authored more than 25 publications in the field of nano-safety and supporting industrial innovation. He actively co-creates strategies for implementing the concept of “safe and sustainable design” (SSbD). He also supports cooperation in the field of Advanced and Innovative Materials (AdMa) in Austria and internationally.
