Professor Tejs Vegge (DTU – Danmarks Tekniske Universitet) is a leader in AI-driven materials science and director of the Pioneer Center for Accelerating P2X Materials Discovery (CAPeX), a $45M, 13-year Danish research center. He led the BIG-MAP project under BATTERY 2030+, developing two of the world’s largest self-driving labs for AI-accelerated materials discovery. His research combines quantum chemistry, machine learning, and high-throughput methods to accelerate next-gen battery materials and Power-to-X. With 235+ publications, an h-index of 65, and 23,500 citations, he advances predictive modeling and inverse design for clean energy materials. He is a high-level member of the European Commission’s Technology Council for Advanced Materials and served on the Danish Government’s Commission for a green transition of passenger cars. He also co-founded PhaseTree, a deep green tech startup providing AI-powered multiscale materials design tools. His leadership spans science, policy, and innovation.
