As a complementary offer to the EUIndTech2025 conference, we invite participants to join exclusive study visits to high-tech facilities and cultural and historical landmarks across Kraków. Access to some of these locations may be a unique and one-time opportunity, so we warmly encourage you to register before the end of the day on Monday, 2 June. All visits and tours will take place on Wednesday, 4 June.
Merchant Kraków – The Royal Route
This tour features some of Kraków’s most renowned tourist attractions, visited by millions from around the world each year. Participants will follow the historical path of the Royal Route, connecting Wawel Royal Castle Hill, the Main Market Square, and the Floriańska Gate. The tour includes a visit to the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), a Renaissance architectural gem and Kraków’s oldest “shopping centre.” You’ll also see the fortified Barbakan and conclude the tour by exploring the history of money in Polish lands.
Kraków Reimagined – Multiculturalism and Urban Revitalization
This walking tour covers three districts undergoing dynamic transformation. Podgórze, once a separate town with its own market square; Zabłocie, formerly an industrial area, now home to cultural institutions such as Oskar Schindler’s Factory; and Kazimierz, shaped by centuries of Christian-Jewish coexistence. Though separated by the Vistula River, these districts are connected by the Father Bernatek Footbridge.
Kraków of the Future – CYFRONET AGH and SOLARIS Centre
The visit begins at the SOLARIS Centre, affiliated with the Jagiellonian University, which conducts advanced research using synchrotron radiation and cryo-electron microscopy. The group will then proceed to the Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH, operator of Poland’s fastest supercomputers—consistently ranked in the global TOP500 list.
Innovative Kraków – Eco-Incineration Plant and ASTOR Innovation Room 4.0
The study visit will start at the Eco-Incineration Plant, built in response to Kraków’s environmental and energy needs. The facility processes up to 245,000 tons of waste generated by the city’s residents annually. The second stop will be at the ASTOR Innovation Room 4.0 (AIR 4.0), where participants will experience firsthand how digitalization, automation, and robotics technologies are implemented in practice.
Eco-Friendly Małopolska – Water Treatment Plant and Dobczyce Dam
This study visit takes you to Dobczyce, located 30 km from Kraków, home to the Raba Water Treatment Plant that supplies drinking water to 350,000 residents of the Kraków metropolitan area. The programme includes a boat cruise on the Dobczyce Reservoir and a walk along the dam’s crown. Additionally, participants will descend below the waterline to view the interior of the dam and its technical infrastructure.
Old Podgórze and Kraków’s Mineral Water Pavilion
The first part of this excursion includes a guided tour of the historic Old Podgórze district. The second part features a visit to the Kraków Mineral Water Pavilion, where guests will taste locally sourced mineral water, learn about the history of Antoni Mateczny’s health spa, and observe the technological process of water extraction and treatment. The visit will conclude with a concert of Viennese music performed by the Salon Orchestra Camerata, conducted by Wiesław Murzański.
