Dr. Nicola Piccirelli is a chemical engineer with an advanced degree in Metallurgy and Materials and has a PhD in Materials Science. Nicola Piccirelli started his professional career in the automotive industry, where he held roles such as research engineer for composite materials and processes, followed by head of the testing laboratory for polymer materials for exterior applications, structure, and sealing. He joined the Design Department as a Polymer Material Expert and leader of the team in charge of polymer material policy.

After 16 years in the automotive industry, Nicola Piccirelli moved to the aircraft industry and joined the Safran group in 2015 as the Technical Marketing Manager for composite materials and processes. He has overseen research projects on resin and fibers for composite materials, and additive manufacturing processes for polymers and composites. Since 2021, he has moved to the Materials and Processes Department, where he coordinates the activities of the composite materials network (organic and ceramic matrix) within the group. He is also an expert in Materials and Processes for Safran.
