Yiannis Bakouros is a Professor of Technology Management and Innovation at the University of Western Macedonia. He is a Chemical Engineer, former head of the Regional Council of Research and Innovation of Western Macedonia. He was director and person in charge of the development of Thessaloniki Technology Park and Thessaly Scoience and Technology Park and the Innovative Actions and Regional Innovation Strategies of the Regions.

He worked as production and sales manager in industrial, commercial and consultancy enterprises.  He served as a member of the board of directors and as technical advisor to big textile manufacturing companies. He served as chairman of the 32 European National Coordinators of EUREKA initiative during the Greek Presidency.

He has been the scientific coordinator of numerous (more than a hundred) EU and National projects on Civil Protection, Energy Just Transition, Regional Development and Competitiveness, Risk Management and Innovation and Technology Management.

He has published a great number of articles and several books in all the above-mentioned fields. His latest book was published with the title “Innovation and Entrepreneurship, from Theory to Practice”.
