Huub started his career in the private sector, as a transport economics consultant. He then started working for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Over the course of his career, he has worked both in the Dutch Ministry at headquarters in The Hague, as well as at different Embassies (in Beijing, Berlin, Bucharest and now in Warsaw). He has led different teams of policy officers responsible for economic themes such as trade and investment promotion, economic transformation, private sector development, bilateral political relations, development cooperation and international migration policy.
At a number of Embassies abroad, he was responsible for developing new initiatives for improved trade and investment promotion, provision of economic services to Dutch companies, developing and implementing public-private partnerships, organizing government policy consultations, policy reporting and management of the Economic teams at the Embassy.
