Dr. Riikka Virkkunen, Professor of Practice at VTT Finland, co-chairs Made In Europe PPP and serves on boards like EFFRA and EIT Manufacturing North. She joined BRTA’s advisory group in 2023 and is an honorary doctor at Mälardalen University. She has participated in the core team of  Finland’s AI 4.0 program and coordinated the Finnish Industrial Internet Forum. At VTT, Virkkunen manages the ‘Digital development platform for biosynthetic materials’ research program. Previously, she coordinated the VTT level strategy on Industrial Renewal and lead the Systems Engineering research area. She holds a PhD in computational materials physics.
