Wide Hogenhout works for the European Commission since 2004. Computer scientist by educational background, with wide experience in different Commission departments linked to digitalisation and materials. In the period 2004-2020 he was working for Future and Emerging Technologies, where he was the project officer for the Graphene Flagship. He joined Directorate-General Research and Innovation (DG RTD) in the Commission in 2023, where he works in the unit for Industrial Transformation, with a focus on advanced materials and digitalisation of R&I in this area.
